The ALPHABET RIDE (aka The A-Z Ride)
The Alphabet Ride (aka the A-Z Ride)
From Lefty:
Now that the weather is becoming nice enough to get out and ride, I’d like to introduce the Alphabet Ride. The purpose of this is to get out and ride the backroads looking for all of the letters of the alphabet (A to Z) and document your adventures.
The rules are simple, as you are riding, start collection photos of your bike along with the Highway letter sign.
If you go out as a group, make sure that the group is in the picture and record the names of everyone in the group.
Roads that have multiple letters, like Hwy AB or HO count for both letters so we’ll give you a 2 for 1 deal on those.
The entire alphabet can be gotten in the southeast corner of Wisconsin; Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha, Waukesha and Walworth counties, so you don’t have to travel far (but you can if you want too!)… You can likely do this with several day rides and you’ll have it all.
At the end of the riding season, turn your pictures in to Lefty (aka Jeffrey.s.hartig@gmail.com).
Preferably, submit you images electronically, however, if you want to turn in printed photos that will work too.
[Editor's Pro tip: Name the files starting with the Letter so it’s easy for Lefty to check…for instance: A-Lefty and Righty.jpg, B-Lefty.jpg, C-Lefty and Righty.jpg, etc…]
Everyone that collects all 26 (yes, there are 26 letters in the alphabet!) will get a patch with this year’s rocker. Subsequent years you will receive just a rocker.
I am planning an overnight ride sometime in September depending on the Covid-19 rules that will collect the alphabet in a single weekend if you care to plan on joining me for that one.
If you have any questions let me know at the above email or in person as soon as we can get together.

Coronavirus Update for Chapter Events – CANCELLED – Next update APR 7TH
*ATTENTION MILWAUKEE H.O.G.
CHAPTER MEMBERS*
Effective Immediately:
All Events, activities, and Group gatherings associated with our Chapter are canceled and or postponed until at least April 7th, 2020. This includes Brunch’s, Bowling and Banquets…etc.
The reason for this decision is due to the rapid community spread of the Coronavirus COVID-19 and the many closings of venues as well as the CDC guidelines to practice social distancing.
On April 7th there will be a Board meeting to determine how to move forward. Stay tuned to all our social media outlets for updates.
The health and safety of all our members is our foremost concern. I hope you all understand our reason for doing this. Thank You
Big Jer
